Class Kids 8-12 Elastic Shorts

Class meets June 3 & 4, 2026 from 10:30 am - 1:30 pm.

Here's a great way celebrate the warmer summer weather!  Students age 8-12 can learn to sew a simple pair of shorts with an elastic waist with one-on-one help from the Nimble Thimbles Quilt Guild--the guild is supplying the elastic and Marietta's is providing the sewing machines! Confident beginner level. 

Please be prepared to share the student's waist and hip measurements when you sign up, so the Nimble Thimbles can provide the right size of pattern and elastic.

In an effort to keep classes affordable, we ask that you purchase all supplies and materials from Marietta's Quilt & Sew.  Before purchasing materials, check to make sure that the class minimum of 3 students has been met. Students are eligible for a 10% discount on supplies purchased for class; online customers should make a note at checkout listing name of class and which items apply to have the discount applied manually.

By signing up for a class, you agree to in-class photography, which we use on our social media to promote the MQS class experience to others.

Supplies needed:

1 1/2 yards fabric

Coordinating thread; our Madeira Aerofil is a strong, durable garment thread

Bonus: Students who bring a plain T-shirt to class can embellish it with leftover fabric from the shorts to make a coordinating top.  See photos.
