Professional Longarm Quilting Services

Bring your quilt top to life with our professional longarm quilting services! Whether you’re finishing a cherished heirloom or creating a modern masterpiece, our longarm machine delivers precision, consistency, and stunning results every time.

What is Longarm Quilting?

Longarm quilting uses a specialized, large-scale sewing machine designed for big projects like bed quilts, wall hangings, and other large fabric creations. The extended frame keeps your quilt layers perfectly smooth and taut, allowing for even, detailed stitching that’s difficult to achieve with a standard sewing machine.

Our longarm system offers:

  • Professional-quality finishes – smooth, consistent stitching from edge to edge.
  • Custom patterns and designs – choose from a wide variety of quilting motifs and thread colors.
  • Faster turnaround times – finish your quilt up to 50% faster than traditional methods.
  • Expert care and attention – every quilt is handled with precision and respect for your craftsmanship.

Let’s Talk Longarm Quilting

Now that you’ve finished a beautiful quilt top, what comes next?
Let us help you complete your masterpiece and give it the finishing touch it deserves.
It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Prepare Your Quilt Top

Check that it’s square
If your quilt top is wider at one point than another, the quilting pattern can appear uneven on the finished product.

Secure all outer seams
Stitch across any seams that meet the outer edge of the quilt. If left unstitched, seams can pull apart when the quilt is loaded on the frame. For quilts with lots of piecing around the edges, it’s best to run a line of stitching around the entire perimeter.

Trim excess threads
Especially with light and dark fabrics, loose dark threads can show through lighter areas once quilted. Removing them ensures a clean finish.

Smooth borders and center
Check that borders aren’t wavy and that there’s no excess fullness in the center—this prevents puckering or small folds during quilting.

Remove embellishments
Please leave off (or remove) buttons, lace, or other decorations until after quilting—these can damage both the quilt and the machine.

Press thoroughly
Iron your quilt top carefully to flatten seams. A $50 surcharge applies if ironing is needed before quilting. Fold gently and hang on a hanger to bring to the shop.

2. Select or Provide Your Batting

Batting should be 8 inches wider and 8 inches longer than your quilt top, allowing for 4 inches of clearance on each side.

If you bring your own batting, it must be clean and cut to size. Avoid high-loft batting.  You must bring in the packaging with your batting, as it  provides instructions for minimum quilting distance required. For best results, we strongly recommend our premium battings, Dream Cotton or Warm & Natural.

3. Select or Provide Your Backing Fabric

Your backing fabric must be 10 inches wider and 10 inches longer than your quilt top, allowing 5 inches on each side for quilting to the edge.

This overage ensures full coverage, especially if your quilt stretches or is slightly out of square.

Ensure your backing is square – this helps load it straight onto the frame.
Choose from our wide backs – we offer beautiful 108” wide back fabrics, or you can piece your own using standard-width fabrics.
If piecing your backing:

  • Remove selvedges from the seam allowance.
  • Leave selvedges on the outer edges for stability on the frame.
  • Press thoroughly and hang separately from your quilt top.

Calculating the Cost

Quilting Service Cost = Total Quilt Square Inches × $0.025

  • Minimum charge: $50.00 (for items under 2,000 sq. in.)
  • If necessary:
    • Quilt prep charge: $50.00
    • Quilt re-work charge: $50.00
    • Ironing charge: $50.00

Example:
If your quilt measures 56" × 72" = 4,032 square inches,
multiply by $0.025 = $100.80

So, the cost to longarm quilt a 56” × 72” quilt would be $100.80.
