Learn how to make a cute zipper bag in your embroidery hoop! Download the embroidery pattern from Kreative Kiwi (click here). Be sure to download the format that works for your machine (Babylock/Brother use PES, Janome uses JEF, and Bernina uses EXP).
This design offers lots of variations; once you learn the process, it’s super simple to dress it up or down and have a bag for every occasion. Experiment with different fabrics or different threads, including metallics and variegated threads. We will be stitching the version of the bag that includes the flap.
Please note that you need an embroidery machine with a 5x7” minimum hoop size for this project. The bigger the hoop, the bigger your finished bag can be.
Supplies:
Homework:
o Cut a 2½” width-of-fabric strip for your strap.
o Iron your interfacing to the wrong side.
o Fold in half and press a crease down the length of the strap.
o Fold the raw edges into the crease and press again.
o Edge stitch on both long sides. You will end up with a long, narrow strap that you can trim to a comfortable length.
