Serged Pintucked Table Runner

In an effort to keep classes affordable, we are requesting that you purchase all supplies and materials from Marietta's Quilt & Sew. We do ask however that you check with us prior to purchasing to ensure the class has made.

Bring your Baby Lock serger to class and learn how to create a bright, colorful and unique table runner. Stitches you will use include the 3 thread rolled edge stitch, the 3 thread overlock narrow stitch, the 2 thread flatlock wide stitch and the 3 thread overlock wide stitch. This class will help make you more comfortable switching between settings on your Baby Lock serger while creating a fun table runner.

*Baby Lock Serger

*1/2 yard base fabric (black in sample)

*1 1/2 yards fabric for backing and center of runner (larger prints work nicely and coordinating center and backing uses fabric more efficiently). If using a different center fabric it needs to be at least 10” x 13 1/2”.

*1 1/2 yards batting if preferred (sample included batting)

*Six (6) assorted coordinating cotton fabrics (at least a fat quarter each) for ends of runner

*Three (3) spools of Madeira® serger thread to coordinate with 6 fabric end colors (white, gray, or dark color. This thread will be used to serge the end colors together)

*One (1) spool of Madeira serger thread to match base fabric

*Two (2) spools Sulky 12 wt. variegated thread to complement color scheme

*Baby Lock® Serger (must be able to lower blade and engage Subsidiary Looper)

*Baby Lock Instruction and Reference Guide (Owners manual)

*Baby Lock Quick Reference Threading Guide

*Baby Lock Inspiration Guide

*Marking pen that can be seen on base fabric

*24” Straight edge ruler with a 45 degree angle line

*Rotary cutter and mat

*Lil’Hookey serger seam hook

*June Tailor Fray Block

*1/4” RK Stitch Perfection Tape

*Wonder clips (small preferred)

*Basic sewing supplies (seam gauge, snips, pins, etc.)

Prior to Class:

From base fabric cut one section that measures 13 1/2” x 42”

From each (of the 6) coordinating cotton fabrics cut four (4) 1” x 15” strips. You will have 24 strips total.

From the center fabric fussy cut one section that measures 10” x 13 1/2”.

We will cut the backing out after the final length of the runner is determined (approximately 51”).

Bring all fabric to class as testing is a very important step in the Serging process.
