Beginning Quilting - Evening



In an effort to keep classes affordable, we are requesting that you purchase all supplies and materials from Marietta’s Quilt & Sew. We do ask however that you check with us prior to purchasing to ensure the class has made.

Requirements: Need to complete Intro to Quilting Class prior to taking Beginning Quilting

Sewing machine in good working order plus manual 

Fabric is one of the hardest items to select to get started with quilting. Our staff will be glad to help you select  coordinating fabrics. Choosing fabrics is part of the first class.

This is a 6 part class, in this class you will learn 5 different blocks and how to put it all together.

Supplies:

Must purchase quilt book -available at Marietta's Quilt & Sew
Sewing machine in good working order plus manual
Sewing machine needles size 80/12 microtex sharp or denim
Good thread in neutral such as gray, tan, or off-white, or one that blends with fabric
Rotary cutter medium size (45 mm)
Rotary ruler size 6" x 24"
Rotary cutter mat 18" x 24"
Scissors for snipping threads
Fabric scissors
Seam ripper
Straight pins (glass head quilt pins with narrow shaft)
Appropriate marking pencils for fabric -*Sewline Fabric Pencil highly recommended.
    Pink lead as well as green will clearly mark most fabrics.

Choosing fabric will be part of the first class,
