Classes


This is a a very supportive group of like minded people. This group is made up of quilters who come together each Monday to work on their own projects. The group serves as a resource for each other. Marilyn is the leader of the group and she brings a wealth of quilting knowledge. The group meets every Monday from 6-8pm. The only requirement is that you have completed the basic quilting class at Marietta's Quilt & Sew

Nicci Returns. She was such a hit, we are having her back. This two day event will give you a better understanding of your Destiny or Valiant machine. You will also learn tips and techniques on how to use IQ Designer. If you are a seasoned embroiderer or a newbie, this is the event for you.

Table runners are a quick easy way to dress up the home for the holidays.

Each month you will learn a new ruler and how you can turn that technique in to a quilt. The rulers demonstrated will make this quilt.

Learn to use rulers made by creative Grid designer Deb Heatherly- to make beautiful , intricate quilts. Practice kits will be supplied and you will have access to the rulers.

The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover all combat service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.

Cost: $ FREE
This is a 6 session class. You will learn basic quilting techniques and the foundation needed to create beautiful quilts. We are introducing something different. These are easy, quick low cost projects to get you comfortable with using your machine. If you are familiar with your machine and want to make these cool projects, come and join us. They make for great Christmas gifts.

Formerly Open to Sew This session will focus on making bags for the charity sew Bring your unfinished projects and sew for the day. We are available for help. Bring your lunch, sit and chat with friends and get those projects done. Staff will be available to help you with your projects FREE

Cost: $ FREE
Learn the basics of sewing. Bring your machine, instruction book and basic sewing supplies. You will make a pillow case, a cute apron and a zippy stripy bag. You will learn how to make a buttonhole, attach a button and install a zipper. Five 2-hour classes for $65 plus supplies. Call Marietta's Quilt & Sew to register - 864-962-5353

Class/Workshop Etiquette
  • Class attendees are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the class/workshop to set up their machines, etc., and should come prepared with the necessary supplies for the class/workshop.
  • PLEASE DO NOT WEAR PERFUME OR SCENTED PRODUCTS to class due to allergies of others.
  • Cell phones should be silenced or set on vibrate; if you need to use your cell phone, please leave the classroom to do so.
  • Classes, workshops and events are designed for those registered only. We ask that you refrain from bringing children or non-registered guests to classes, workshops and events.
Supplies
  • A class supply list will be provided to you at the time of class enrollment.
  • All class attendees are asked to gather supplies prior to class to ensure all participants have the full benefit of class time.
  • Please make sure to mark all your items. Marietta's Quilt & Sew is not responsible for anything left behind after the class/workshop
  • Due to copyright laws all class attendees must have their own copy of the required book/pattern/magazine/handout for the class/workshop; these will be listed on the supply list. Absolutely no photocopies allowed in class and no sharing of patterns or books.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you are unable to attend a class for any reason, please notify us within 3 working days to transfer you class fee to another class or we will gladly issue a store credit. We cannot transfer class credits more than one time. This will enable us to contact someone that may be on a waiting list for this class. We are sorry, but cancellations made after the 3 working day policy will not be eligible for store credit or transfer.  Refunds will not be given unless the class is canceled; in this case you will be notified at the number you gave us when you signed up. No-shows will not be eligible for re-scheduling or store credit.

If your class is several hours long, you may want to bring a snack and a drink to get you through. We have a refrigerator & microwave if you need. In addition, as you may know, many people suffer from allergies and when in an enclosed room, these allergies tend to flare up. We ask that you please refrain from wearing perfume or any strongly scented products.
